So i re-wrote the essay with a little more thought.
"The arts are a necessity, like food and water, for a true civilization to thrive. The arts can be identified as a form of communication, be it visually or verbally. Communication, like food and water, is definitely an instinctive force that can make, or break, the human race. The arts, as a whole, convey a civilizations legacy. Without this form of expression, great cultures of antiquity would be extinct in the records of time. Thus, great world powers of the current era struggle to master the art of communication. Every action is documented and every form of the arts is held in high regard. Civilizations who have perfected the arts are seen as refined and sophisticated, while those who have not are seen as tribal and insignificant.
History tells of instances where a cultures understanding of the arts became so popular and widely practiced that anyone without the same traditions were viewed as barbarians. Examples of such treatments can be found between the Romans and the Gauls. As the Romans conqured most of Europe, they forced their culture, religions, and artistic tradictions upon the regional tribes. Another example is that of the European conquest of the "new world." The beliefs and arts of the 15th century European settlers were forced upon the natives and those tribes that retaliated were believed to be un-educated in the ways of the world and shunned from society, eventually to be thrown out of their own land.
Thus, the arts are truly a necessity, for whoever holds the power of the arts holds the influence of the world. The arts will go on till the end of time and the cultures who have mastered this broad field will be happy to know that their impact on the world will be recorded forever."
PS: Someone backed up into my car in the parking lot at work today. The back of my fender, where my tire is, is loose and flying up against my tire. When i drive it rubs against it and makes a really loud noise. Took it to an auto care place and they said that the bolt the binds the fender to the body of the car was bent and the fender is a bit loose. I filed a claim with insurance but i just don't have the money that they want ($500 deductable). And since i left the accident scene without contacting the police, i can't put a police claim in (i didn't realize something was wrong until i was on the highway and the loose part of the fender started hitting against my tire).
What a bunch of bullshit. Honestly.
I have NOT been having a good week. Can you tell?
